Low NOx Burners

Over 10,000 MW of Successful Installations

Every P&I LNB & OFA Project has Exceeded Guarantees.

Power & Industrial Services’ experience in manufacturing replacement burners for all OEM’s has given P&I a unique perspective to thoroughly evaluate many different designs and methods of construction. This has given P&I an insight into what will perform reliably in the harsh environment of a coal fired boiler.

Burners & Components

P&I In-House Expertise

P&I is the only Low NOX Burner supplier that engineers, designs and manufacturers all of the burners and components in their own shop assuring quality control and on-time delivery.

Low NOX Multi Zone Burner

•Excellent secondary air control

•No components in the coal stream that could wear out or cause coking

Rope Breaker Elbow

Maintenance FREE Operation

•Rugged design gives superior performance and adjustability during start-up and allows for easy re-tuning year after year to adjust for coal changes and boiler performance requirements

•No other burner manufacturer puts more emphasis on the use of superior heat-resistant materials such as PI-2000, 253MA and 309 stainless steel

Burner Tuning Features

Unit Review

Custom Designs

•Coal and boiler operating data review

•Test data review

•CFD modeling of air flow and chemical species of combustion

•3D Solidworks models of the combustion system is made after field measurements. This helps with mechanical design and reducing installation problems

•Once the baseline CFD model is completed, the addition of Low NOX , burners with and without Over Fire Air can be tested

•Elevation changes of the OFA can be tested as well as various mill and burner combinations and operating conditions

Nox Concentration Profiles for the Baseline Case
Net Nox Formation Rate for the Baseline Case

Design Review

•Assists in predicting the flame shape by running multiple register and spin vane settings

•Helps quantify the amount of secondary air to each burner by running multiple windbox pressure settings

•Assists in predicting fuel distribution and how it affects burner performance
